Lee County ,FL : Motorcyclist identified in deadly crash along US-41 on Wednesday afternoon ,July 1st 2015

A motorcyclist died after a van drove into his path Wednesday afternoon along US-41 in Fort Myers, according to police.

The motorcyclist, identified as Kevan Fletcher, was heading southbound when the driver of a van, who was attempting to turn left, hit him while exiting the parking lot of Lee Memorial Hospital, police said.

The driver of the minivan was found at fault and was issued a citation for failing to yield the right of way while making a left-hand turn, police said. The crash shut down the roadway for much of the day.
