Marion County , FL : 44 -Yars old Jay McKenzie was killed after he failed to negotiate a curve and drove into a grassy area hitting two small trees on Sunday early morning , January 11th 2015

After ten hours of searching, state troopers found the body of a driver involved in a crash in Marion County over the weekend.

The Florida Highway Patrol says 44-year-old Jay McKenzie was driving on Northeast 150 Avenue in Marion County around 12:20 a.m. Sunday when he failed to negotiate a curve and drove into a grassy area hitting two small trees and driving through a fence and then hitting another tree.

Investigators say after the crash McKenzie got out of the Volkswagen Jetta he was driving and walked away.

His body was found just before 12:45 p.m. Monday.
