PORTAGEVILLE, MO : 61-year-old seriously injured after car crashes into ditch on Friday, 22nd December 2023

A 61-year-old was seriously injured after the vehicle she was driving runs off the road and crashes.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) said it happened at 5:20 a.m. on Friday in New Madrid County along MO 162, about five miles west of Portageville.

Bonita Sanders, 61 of Morehouse, was driving a 2017 Buick Envision when MSHP said her vehicle ran off the left side of the road and hit a ditch.

Sanders had serious injuries and was taken to St. Francis Hospital by ambulance.

The Buick she was driving was totaled.
