A Thief River Falls boy has died after he was hit while riding his bicycle through an intersection.
The crash was reported just before 6 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Greenwood Street and Oakland Park Road in Thief River Falls.
The boy was identified as 14-year-old Gannon Allen Hejlik.
Preliminary information shows Hejlik was riding his bike south on the crosswalk on Oakland Park Road when he was hit by a truck heading east on Greenwood Street.
He was flown to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, where he died early Tuesday morning.
Thief River Falls police say traffic on Oakland Park Road is required to stop at the intersection, and traffic on Greenwood Street is not required to stop.
The driver of the truck was identified as 52-year-old Tammy Martha Johnson of Thief River Falls. No charges have been filed.
The Thief River Falls Police Department, Pennington County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol are all investigating.
