Fairfax, VT : Female driver fell asleep and crashed into the cement overpass on Tuesday August 5th 2014
Police are investigating a crash on Route 104 in Fairfax. It happened at about 5 a.m. Tuesday.
It appears the female driver flipped her car on its side before it slid a significant distance and crashed into the cement overpass below Interstate 89.
"Apparently this morning an elderly lady was operating a motor vehicle traveling toward St. Albans City on Route 104. She advised she fell asleep, went off the road, the embankment, rolled her car and ended up hitting underneath the bridge there," Vt. State Tpr. Richard Stepien said.
The woman was taken to the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. Police say her injuries appeared to be minor.
