BRAMWELL, WV : Bramwell man dies after refusing treatment following I-77 crash on Sunday, 30th September 2018
A Bramwell man who refused treatment after a crash evening on I-77 in Bland County died later that night.
Virginia State Police Trooper S.H. Viars is investigating the single-vehicle crash, which happened at 6:30 p.m. at the 66 mile marker.
Thomas F. Simionie, 77, was driving a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck pulling a trailer south on I-77 when the trailer began to fishtail, Viars said. Simionie lost control of the truck and it ran off the left side of the interstate and struck a guardrail.
Simionie refused medical treatment at the scene, but was later transported to Wythe County Community Hospital in Wytheville. He passed away at the hospital later that same night, Viars said.
