MOBILE, AL : 1 dead following traffic accident on I-65 on Wednesday, 14th February 2024

The Mobile Police Department said on Wednesday, Feb. 14, a traffic accident on Interstate 65 southbound between Dauphin Street and Airport Boulevard left one person dead.

Police said they responded to the location at 7:20 a.m. and discovered that traffic was coming to a halt due to an earlier collision.

While traffic was halted, a vehicle collided with the rear of of a semi-truck pulling a box trailer.

The driver of the vehicle, Elizabeth Carvahlo De Souza, was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries where she would succumb to the injuries.
