WALTON COUNTY, FL : Man charged for fatal Walton County DUI crash on Tuesday, 12th December 2023

A 35-year-old man is now charged for a fatal DUI crash in Walton County

Justin Echternacht of DeFuniak Springs turned himself in on Tuesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He is charged with Homicide - DUI Manslaughter.

The crash happened around 5:40 a.m. on Sept. 28 on Highway 90 near the intersection of Boy Scout Road.

Florida Highway Patrol says Echternacht crossed the center line and crashed his pickup truck head-on into another pickup truck. The driver was pronounced dead on scene.
