Ulysses, KS : Hugoton man injured in accident on Highway K-25 in Grant County on Thursday afternoon, April 28, 2016

A 20-year-old Hugoton man was injured Thursday afternoon when his 2000 Ford pickup truck overturned 11.6 miles south of Ulysses on Highway K-25 in Grant County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, at 2:24 p.m. Austin Harper was northbound on K-25 in his pickup truck when the truck went off the road onto the northbound shoulder, overcorrected and went into a side skid across the highway.

Harper’s truck then entered the southbound ditch where it rolled two times and came to rest facing southwest. Harper, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and also came to rest in the southbound ditch.

Harper was transported with unknown injuries to Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses. The hospital declined to provide an update of Harper’s condition Thursday night.
