Lonetree, CO : Motorcyclist dies in two-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of the highway near the RidgeGate exchange on Monday, 27th April, 2020

A motorcyclist died Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 25 in Douglas County.

The crash happened at about 4:05 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway near the RidgeGate exchange, said Trooper Josh Lewis, a Colorado State Patrol spokesman.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 37-year-old woman, was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead, Lewis said.

A 2014 Jeep was involved in the incident. The driver, who was not injured, stayed at the scene, Lewis said. An investigation is ongoing. Southbound lanes of the highway have been closed by the incident and traffic is being detoured.
