Orange City , FL : pedestrian was hit and killed after crossing a Volusia County road on Monday night,December 22nd 2014

A person was hit and killed after crossing a Volusia County road on Monday night, according to officials.

Investigators said the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk when hit on 17-92 and May Street.

The driver did stop and call 911, troopers said.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, but died a short time later.

No charges have been filed
