Lincoln, NE : A 59-year-old man died in a collision on Friday, June 16, 2017

A 59-year-old man died in a collision Friday afternoon in York County, according to a press release from the York County Sheriff's Office.

Robert Schmit of Gresham, the driver of a semi, died at the scene.

Schmit was turning onto U.S. 81 in York from U.S. 34 and failed to yield at a stop sign. His truck struck the right side of a vehicle headed north on U.S. 81 just before 5 p.m., according to the release.

The other driver, Dale Telenga, of Alberta, Canada, was not injured, the release said.
