A 31-year-old rural Colfax man is dead after a one-vehicle crash early Saturday in Dunn County.
According to information released by the Dunn County sheriff’s office:
At about 2:22 a.m. Saturday, the Dunn County E-911 Center received a report of a lone westbound vehicle that had left the road on Highway 29 near the intersection of 906th Street in the town of Elk Mound.
Upon arriving, deputies found the vehicle was traveling westbound on Highway 29 and failed to negotiate the curve in the road. The vehicle went down a steep embankment and rolled several times. The male driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle, and he was ejected.
Evidence at the scene indicated the driver was not seat belted, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by personnel from the Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors in the crash based on the initial investigation.
The crash remains under investigation.
