Richland Center, Wisconsin
Two people are dead and one in the hospital after a rollover crash on County Road A in Richland County, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Office.
Richland emergency medical services along with the fire and sheriff's departments responded to the scene, about 3 miles west of Highway 80, just before 3 p.m. Saturday.
Once on scene, police discovered a passenger car had overturned, landing in a ditch. The Richland County Deputy Coroner pronounced two people dead at the scene.
Richland County School District named the two teens Sunday afternoon in a Facebook post, telling its students that junior Brooklyn Lindvig and Sophomore Makenzie Foust died in the accident. Junior Jacob Logterman survived the accident and is left with fractures in his back and staples in his arm.
"I wish I could do something different about them," Logterman said. "Wish I could've done something to prevent it."
Logterman said the teens were teaching Makenzie to drive when the car lost control and flipped.
"I kept asking the EMTs if everybody else was OK. They told me that they didn't make it."
Logterman said he was dating Brooklyn and was very good friends with Makenzie.
"[School] will be different," he said, "I won't have my best friends there."
The Wisconsin State Patrol is assisting with the investigation.
