Bartow, FL : Amanda Sue Reedy, 39, dies in single-vehicle car accident on 80 Foot Road in Bartow on Sunday, November 16, 2014
A 39-year-old Polk County woman died early Sunday from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash on 80 Foot Rd. in Bartow.
Amanda Sue Reedy was pronounced dead at the scene just before 8 a.m.
According to a Polk County Sheriff's Office report deputies responded to a call about an overturned vehicle in the 1000 block of the roadway.
When they arrived they found a 2000 silver-colored Chevrolet Tahoe with Reedy pinned underneath.
Investigators believe the accident occurred sometime after 1 a.m. It appears Reedy was traveling north when for unknown reasons the driver's side of the vehicle veered onto the shoulder.
When the SUV came back across the road it rotated several times. It struck a small group of trees and rolled over ending up on its roof.
It came to rest near the intersection of Lake Ann School Rd. Reedy, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected out of the driver's side window.
It doesn't appear there were any other occupants of the vehicle. The roadway was shut down for approximately four hours as investigators with PCSO's traffic homicide unit collected evidence.
The official cause of the crash is not yet known as the investigation continues.
