Marysville,OH : Injury crash causes power outage; driver hospitalized on June, Monday 26th 2017

A driver remains hospitalized and 300 homes were without power Monday night, as a result of a single-vehicle injury crash in Liberty Township. The accident scene is shown at right in a photo from the Union Rural Electric (URE) Facebook page. The driver of a 2007 Dodge Caravan lost control of the vehicle in the 21000-block of Davis Road at 9:41 p.m. The vehicle drove off the side of the road, struck a utility pole and rolled on its side. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and flown by Medflight to Grant Medical Center. Power was restored to the area about two and one half hours after the crash. URE officials said it took longer than normal to restore power because crews had to wait until the driver was stabilized and flown out of the area. Roads were reopened about midnight Tuesday and URE will replace the utility pole today. The Union County Sheriff’s Office was unable to be contacted by press time.
