Belleville, IL : Belleville woman seriously injured when car crashes into semi on February, Thursday 8th 2018

A Belleville woman was seriously injured after her car crashed into a tractor trailer early Friday morning at the Interstate 64 and Illinois 4 interchange.

Candice Kehoe, 33, was flown by helicopter to Saint Louis University Hospital after her 2016 Nissan Versa collided with the semi, according to police.

Witnesses reported that the semi, hauling a refrigerated trailer, stopped at the intersection from the westbound exit off I-64 onto Illinois 4 at about 7:20 a.m., according to Lt. Kevin McGinnis, of the Mascoutah Police Department.

The tractor-trailer’s driver, St. Louis resident Hamdija Efendic, then pulled out onto the road, and Kehoe hit the trailer with her Nissan Versa and went underneath the trailer, McGinnis said.
