Baltimore, MD : 79-year-old woman killed and man injured after two cars collided near the Bryn Mawr and Gilman schools on Wednesday afternoon, March 2, 2016

A 79-year-old woman was killed Wednesday afternoon after two cars crashed on Northern Parkway near the Bryn Mawr and Gilman schools, police said.

The named of the woman was withheld Wednesday evening while her family was notified, police said.

A 68-year-old man driving the other car was hospitalized, but police did not release information about his condition.

The crash happened about 2:50 p.m. on the 4600 block of W. Northern Parkway, police said.

The woman was driving a Ford Escort; the man, a Chevrolet Impala. The woman was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.
