Pharr, TX : One dead after crashing truck into utility pole north on Cage Boulevard on Thursday, March 30, 2017

One person is dead following a crash just after midnight Thursday.

Police said officers responded at about 12:05 a.m. Thursday to the 1100 block of North Cage Boulevard after a single-car crash, according to a news release.

Officials believe that the driver of a GMC Canyon pickup truck was traveling north on Cage Boulevard when they lost control and struck a utility pole.

The driver, who was not identified pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead by Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace Jaime “Jerry” Muñoz at a local hospital, the release states.

No more details were release as the crash remains under investigation.
