WESTFORD, MA : Two injured in accident in Westford Academy parking lot on Wednesday, 28th March 2018

Two women were hospitalized with serious injuries and a dog was killed Wednesday after a car struck them in the parking lot of Westford Academy.

Both of the women were in their 60s, according to the Middlesex district attorney's office, as was the male driver of the vehicle, who remained on scene following the accident.

Westford Superintendent of Schools Everett Olsen, in an email to parents, said the driver was a school employee arriving at work.

Olsen said no students were involved. Olsen said one woman was hurt more seriously than the other.

The incident occurred at 6:15 a.m. The school was not open at the time and no students were involved, according to the district attorney's office.
