Brookland ,AR : Two people hurt in crash on Highway 49 Wednesday night ,July 22nd 2015

Two people were hurt in a 2-vehicle crash in Brookland Wednesday night.

According to Brookland police, the driver of a gold Toyota Corolla was turning left onto Highway 49 from School Street when it entered the path of a white SUV traveling south on the highway.

The driver of the Corolla was taken to a local hospital by ambulance. One minor in the SUV was transported to a Memphis hospital by helicopter. Two other people in the SUV were also involved in the crash.

The crash closed down traffic for approximately 45 minutes while crews cleaned up the debris and landed the helicopter. The crash was reported to police at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.

The names of the victims were not released.
