Cornville, AZ : Woman killed in SR89A crash near Page Springs Road on Wednesday, March 23, 2016

The crash occurred around 9:09 a.m. Wednesday, March 23. According Bart Graves, media specialist for the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a northbound 2004 Hyundai SUV vehicle have crossed the median and collided with a southbound 2015 Hyundai compact car.

The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Mary Catherine Meyer, of Shoreview, Minn., who was driving the car.

Yavapai County Sheriff's Office deputies were turning cars around at the scene of the crash, which was responded to by the Sedona Fire District. SFD had two ambulances and two engines at the scene.

The 40-year-old Cornville driver of the SUV and a 24-year-old Shoreview, Minn., resident who was a passenger in the car were airlifted from the accident, with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, Graves said. The SUV driver was is in critical but stable condition.

Graves said the SUV left the roadway for unknown reasons. DPS is currently still conducting a possible criminal investigation.
