Appleton , WI: 34 - Years old woman killd in Crash after she lost control of her SUV and SUV collided with a truck along U.S. Highway 41 in Brown County of northeastern Wisconsin on Tuesday , March 3rd 2015
Authorities have identified an Appleton woman who was killed in a crash on U.S. Highway 41 in Brown County of northeastern Wisconsin while a winter storm brought snow and high winds to the state.
The crash happened about 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Town of Lawrence, southwest of De Pere.
The Hobart-Lawrence Police Department said Erin Cutsforth, 34, was driving north, lost control of her SUV, drove through the ditch and entered the southbound lanes. Her SUV collided with a truck driven by David Byrne, 23, of De Pere.
Press-Gazette Media reported that Cutsforth died at the scene. Byrne's truck caught fire. He escaped just before officers arrived and was taken to a hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Highway 41 was closed for about five hours while authorities investigated.
