VIENNA, IL : Villa Grove woman hospitalized in southern Illinois accident on July, Friday 28th 2017

One of five members of a Villa Grove family was seriously injured in a crash early Friday morning in southern Illinois.

Illinois State Police Trooper Gregory Miller said Bob Reardon, 53, was driving east on Interstate 24 near Vienna when the front tire on his Trailblazer blew just before 4 a.m.

"He lost control and was trying to regain control and they went off the road to the right. As soon as they hit the grass, the vehicle rolled a couple of times before coming to rest," Miller said.

Reardon, wife Aimee, 46, and their three daughters were all taken to Heartland Hospital in Marion.

Miller said Bob Reardon and the daughters were up and walking at the hospital but Aimee Reardon sustained serious injuries. She was later taken to St. Louis University Hospital, where she was listed in fair condition on Saturday.

Miller said all the occupants of the sport utility vehicle were wearing seat belts.
