Orlando, FL : 2 people found dead outside vehicle on I-4 in Volusia County on Saturday, December 31, 2016

An investigation is underway in Volusia County after a man and woman were found dead outside an SUV on Interstate 4, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say they received a call just after 2 a.m. Saturday. The SUV was parked on the eastbound side of I-4 with its hazard lights on.

When deputies arrived, they found 32-year-old Daniel Kelsey and 30-year-old Heather Kelsey unresponsive outside the vehicle.

They died a short time later.

Deputies said they also found the couple's three children, ages 8 months to 4 years old, inside the vehicle.

The children were not harmed, but they were taken to Halifax Health Medical Center as a precaution.

The Florida Department of Children and Families is assisting with the investigation.
