Newport News, VA : Two Virginia Beach residents died after a car accident on Wednesday, August 16, 2017

Two Virginia Beach residents died after a car accident Wednesday morning, Virginia State Police said.

A silver Ford Taurus drove across a median into oncoming traffic on I-264 westbound at Birdneck Road Tuesday, police said in an email. The Taurus struck a gray Toyota Corolla, and then struck a green Suzuki Sidekick.Michael Goldstone, driver of the Taurus, and Aaron Collier, driver of the Suzuki Sidekick, were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Darlene Varney, driver of the Toyota Corolla, was transported to Virginia Beach General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
