MESA, AZ : At least 2 injured as overnight crash knocks out water to businesses in Mesa on Tuesday, 11th June 2024

At least two people are hospitalized after a crash overnight in Mesa that knocked out water service to local businesses.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. at the intersection of Dobson and Broadway roads. Mesa police said one vehicle was speeding when it crashed into the other vehicle, sending the speeding vehicle into a water main.

Businesses at the intersection are without water until crews can replace the pipe.

At least two people were taken to the hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. One person was in the vehicle that was hit by the speeding vehicle, and they were not hospitalized.

The intersection was closed for a few hours as crews cleaned up debris, but it reopened around 5:50 a.m.

Police are looking at speed or impairment as possible factors in this crash.
