Waco, TX : Woman dies in crash on Loop 340 access road early Wednesday morning, October 26, 2016

An ambulance driver found a woman lying dead on an access road to West Loop 340 east of Imperial Drive after an apparent single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning, Waco police Officer Garen Bynum said.
About 4:45 a.m., an ambulance driver was traveling on the access road of West Loop 340 when the driver came up to a 23-year-old woman lying in the roadway outside her vehicle, Bynum said.
The ambulance driver called for police, and officers found damage to a guardrail, indicating the driver may have crashed before she was thrown from the vehicle.
Bynum said there were no reported witnesses at the crash site, and the deceased woman appeared to be the only occupant of the car.
The woman was reportedly dead on arrival.
The woman’s name is not being released until her next of kin is notified.
Police closed the roadway for two hours as they investigated the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
