MENAHGA, MN : 2-vehicle crash sends 80-year-old to hospital on Saturday, 23rd March 2019

An 80-year-old man was injured in a two-vehicle crash reported at 1:02 p.m. Saturday, March 23, in Wadena County.

The Wadena County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash at the intersection of Wadena County Road 23 and 370th Street in Shell River Township, east of Menahga. Emergency personnel arrived to find Leslie Mattson, 80, of Menahga, was driving his minivan east on 370th Street when he failed to stop for the stop sign. Mattson proceeded through the intersection and was struck by a vehicle driven by Wanda Kangas, 55, of Menahga. Kangas was heading south on County Road 23, the sheriff's office reported.

Mattson was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids with minor injuries.
