Newark,OH : Newark man killed in crash not wearing seat belt, patrol says on January, Monday 22nd 2018

A Newark man was killed when his pickup truck veered off Route 16 and struck a tree Monday afternoon, the State Highway Patrol said.

Jordan Fogle, 34, was taken to Licking Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Fogle was driving west on Route 16 near Dayton Road in Newark at about 3:35 p.m. when he went off the left side of the road, then apparently overcorrected and went off the right side of the road where he crashed into a tree, the patrol said.

The driver’s side door of the pickup struck the tree. Fogle was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.
