A 15-year-old girl died after a collision between two vehicles outside of Arches National Park on Saturday afternoon.

After halting at a stop sign on Arches Scenic Drive at about 1:41 p.m., the driver of a 2012 Jeep CJ attempted to make a left turn onto the southbound section of State Road 191 when it was broadsided by a white 2013 Toyota RAV4 heading north, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

The impact caused the Jeep to roll, and the RAV4 spun and came to a halt in the road.

RAV4 passenger Hannah Greening was transported to St. Mary's Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Colorado where she later died. The 15-year-old is believed to have been wearing her seat belt incorrectly.The 36-year-old driver, Holly Greening; the 25-year-old front passenger, Jessica Pittman; and a 5-year-old passenger, Emma Greening, were all properly restrained, the women wearing seat belts and the child secured in a booster seat. All three suffered minor injuries.

The RAV4's four passengers were from San Angelo, Texas.

The Jeep's driver was 26-year-old Adrian Najera, who was wearing his seat belt. The Jeep's passenger, Cody Lakner, 27, was not. Both are from Evansville, Wyo., and were admitted to Moab Regional Hospital for injures. They are expected to survive.
