VICTORVILLE, CA : A rollover crash on Mojave Drive on April, Thursday 20th 2017
Authorities said four people suffered minor injuries following a rollover crash on Mojave Drive on Thursday.
The crash, which occurred at the intersection of Mojave and Jeraldo drives, involved a black Honda Civic and gray Chevrolet Tahoe. The Tahoe, occupied by a woman and her two children, overturned onto the sidewalk, while the Civic sustained major front-end damage from the impact.
Victorville Sheriff’s Station Deputy Jeffrey Dean said the crash occurred as the woman in the Tahoe headed east on Mojave Drive, while the Civic headed west. The man in the Civic made a left turn onto Jeraldo Drive, directly into the path of the Tahoe.
The force of the impact caused the Tahoe to overturn, while the Civic spun and ended up facing east on Mojave Drive.
Amalia Salgado said she was on Jeraldo Drive about to turn left onto Mojave Drive when she saw the crash occur right in front of her.
“I just saw the Tahoe in the air in front of me,” Salgado said. “She must have been going pretty fast. Fortunately, neither her or the kids appeared to be hurt.”
Dean said the woman and her children were taken to a local hospital for “precautionary reasons,” while the man in the Civic was taken to Victor Valley Global Medical Center with chest pain. No other injuries were reported.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected to be factors in the crash, Dean said.
