Molalla ,OR : 68-year-old Barbara Mendenhall injured after man falls asleep at the wheel and crashes head-on with car on Monday ,June 1st 2015
A 30-year-old man told investigators he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed head-on with another car Monday, Oregon State Police said.
The crash sent three people to the hospital.
Jason M. Shaw, of Molalla, was driving his 2003 Honda Civic southbound on Highway 213 north of Molalla at about 3:45 p.m. when police said his car crossed the center line and hit a 2008 Chevy Impala driven by Janet J. Wollam, 68, of Portland.
Shaw was flown to Oregon Health & Science University with potentially life-threatening injuries.
Wollam and her passenger, 68-year-old Barbara Mendenhall of Vancouver, Washington were taken to OHSU by ambulance.
They suffered minor injuries.
OSP says alcohol was not a factor.
The crash is under investigation and charges could be filed, police said.
