A 16-year-old male was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night
Caleb Young, of New Carlisle, was taken by Careflight to Miami Valley Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition today, according to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Springfield Post.
Caleb was driving a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix northbound on Medway New Carlisle Road when his vehicle went left-of-center and struck a southbound Ford F-350, according to the patrol.
The truck’s occupants were David Sowers, 36, and Krystal Sowers, 34, both of Medway, David did not report any injuries, but Krystal Sowers was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening, according to the patrol.
Everyone involved was wearing seat belts. The patrol reports that troopers continue to investigate and it’s not clear what factors may have caused or contributed to the crash.
