Rocky Point, NY : Pedestrian killed crossing street on Long Island on Wednesday night, Oct 7, 2015

Police are investigating a motor vehicle accident that killed a pedestrian on Long Island.

Suffolk County police say the victim was crossing Route 25A in Rocky Point, just east of Rocky Point Road, Wednesday night when he was fatally struck.

The driver remained at the scene. His car was impounded for a safety check.

The identity of the pedestrian was not immediately released.
