MANDAREE, ND : Head-on crash in western North Dakota kills 1, injures 1 on Thursday, 17th January 2019
A head-on collision in western North Dakota killed one driver and injured another.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported that the crash happened about 7 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, about 10 miles west of Mandaree, in McKenzie County.A 53-year-old man from Watford City was driving a 2018 GMC Sierra east on Bear Den Road. While rounding a curve, the Sierra slid on the ice into an oncoming 2015 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 30-year-old man from Alexander.
The driver of the Silverado was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken to a Dickinson hospital, where he died.
The driver of the GMC Sierra was wearing a seatbelt and was taken to the McKenzie County Hospital.
Names were being withheld pending notification of family.
