SCREVEN, GA : One woman killed in a single vehicle wreck in Hwy 17 on Sunday afternoon July 20th 2014

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a fatal wreck in Screven County.

According to troopers with the Sylvania GSP post, 40 year old Amy Flanders was involved in a fatal single-vehicle wreck on Highway 17 near the Screven/ Jenkins county line around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Troopers say the woman unexplainably ran off the road and crashed into a ditch. Flanders was thrown from her car and died at the scene. Troopers tell WTOC she was not wearing a seatbelt.

Results of routine blood tests are pending.
