EASTON TWP, MI : 2 hospitalized after 3-vehicle crash in Easton Twp on Saturday, 16th November, 2019

Two people were taken to the hospital after a three-car crash Saturday night in Ionia County’s Easton Township, according to the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 9:20 p.m. Nov. 16, Ionia County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a crash on N. State Road (M-66) near Parmeter Road in Easton Township, according to a press release.

Investigation showed a GMC Terrain was traveling south on North State Road and rear-ended a John Deere Combine Tractor, police said. After the collision, the vehicle crossed the center line of the roadway and hit another passenger vehicle going north, police added.

All vehicles involved sustained “serious damage,” the sheriff’s office stated.

The driver and passenger of the Terrain suffered “serious but non-life threatening injuries,” police said, and were taken to Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Preliminary investigation showed neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected to be involved in the incident, police said.

The Ionia Department of Public Safety, the Michigan State Police, Life EMS, Ionia County Central Dispatch and R.E. Ruehs Garage assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
