Westminster, CO : Car goes airborne in I-25 crash in Westminster on Tuesday morning, August 2, 2016

Part of Interstate 25 shut down Tuesday morning through part of the evening as authorities investigated a fatal crash.

Thornton Police confirm one person died in the aftermath of the crash that involved up to seven vehicles.

According to Matt Barnes, a spokesperson with the Thornton Police Department, one vehicle that was traveling northbound went airborne, traveled over the median, and landed in the southbound lanes.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the crash.
