The California Highway Patrol says four people were seriously injured in a six-car pileup that shut down a portion of a Los Angeles freeway.
CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos says the crash happened shortly after 1:45 a.m. Monday on the northbound Interstate 405 in Sherman Oaks.
He says four people were hospitalized with major injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Northbound lanes were closed just south of the U.S. 101 connector.
City News Service reports all lanes were reopened by 5:30 a.m. in time for the morning rush hour.
