DANVERS, MA : Driver killed in a motorcycle crash in Danvers on Saturday, July 29, 2017

The driver killed in a motorcycle crash in Danvers early Saturday morning has been identified as Joseph Addonizio Jr. , 35, of Woburn.

State police said Addonizio was killed when his 2013 Harley Davidson struck a guardrail on Route 128 South in Danvers, just before Exit 21, just after 1:30 a.m.

Police said it does not appear any other vehicles were involved in the crash.

State police, with the help of Beverly police, shut down the highway and detoured motorists. The road was reopened around 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

The crash is still under investigation. State police, as well as Beverly police, Danvers police, Danvers firefighters, and the state Department of Transportation responded to the scene.
