Islip, NY : One man killed in car crash Long Island on Saturday January 9 2016.

Suffolk County police say a man was killed when he crashed his SUV into a tree after fleeing an accident on Long Island.
Fifty-year-old Anthony Lapicola of Shoreham was pronounced dead at a local hospital on Sunday. Police say Lapicola was backing out of a driveway in Brentwood around 4:45 p.m. when he struck a car and then drove off. He hit the tree a short distance away.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
