PORTLAND, OR : 1 dead, 2 badly hurt in crash on SE Powell on Monday, 8th July 2019

At least one person died and two others were seriously hurt in a hit-and-run crash on SE Powell Blvd. that involved at least 4 cars and a pedestrian.

Aimee Reichert told KOIN 6 News she saw the driver of a BMW SUV speed through the intersection of SE 148th and Powell and hit another SUV around 3 p.m. Monday.

“I was driving and saw the accident happen and stopped,” Reichert said. “It was very fast and hard to recall all the details.”Portland Fire and Rescue said a woman died and two others were taken to the hospital, where one is in critical condition.

“I just had my hand on the woman’s back, just trying to say words, letting her know help was on the way,” Reichert said.
