Bellmead, TX : One killed, 4 injured, 1 arrested in Bellmead on Thursday, 27th June 2024

The Texas Department of Public Safety reports one man was arrested after another man died and four others were taken to hospitals after a single vehicle crash on Thursday evening in Bellmead.

DPS Sgt. Ryan Howard said troopers responded to the reported crash about 7:15 p.m. Thursday on Katy Lane near Preston Lane in Bellmead. Troopers report a GMC Sierra pickup was going south at what was described as an unsafe speed, when the driver failed to negotiate a curve. The pickup left the roadway and struck a tree.

A passenger, identified as 20-year-old Eduardo Soto Salaices of Durango, Mexico, was pronounced dead at the scene. Three others were transported to Baylor Scott & White in Waco with non-life threatening injuries, while a fourth was taken to Baylor Scott & White with critical injuries.
