Fort Dodge, IA : Two injured in collision north of FD on Sunday, August 27, 2017

Firefighters stand by as a tow truck crew prepares to remove one of the cars involved in an accident Sunday afternoon at the intersection of 170th Street and Nelson Avenue north of Fort Dodge. Iowa State Patrol Trooper Kyle Kluender said the white vehicle was going north on Nelson Avenue and the black vehicle was going west on 170th Street when they collided in the intersection. Kluender said that according to a witness, initial reports indicate the west bound black car did not stop for the stop sign. Both female drivers were taken to UnityPoint Trinity Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries. Fort Dodge and Badger fire departments, Webster County Sheriff’s Department, Fort Dodge Police Department, Iowa State Patrol and UnityPoint Trinity paramedics responded to the 5:25 p.m. call. The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
