Phoenix, AZ : Man killed in workplace accident in downtown Phoenix near ASU on Tuesday, 17th March, 2020

Phoenix police are investigating after a man was killed in a "workplace accident" on Tuesday morning in Phoenix.

To determine what happened in the incident at 11:42 a.m. near First Avenue and Van Buren Street, Phoenix Police Department spokeswoman Sgt. Maggie Cox said they are working with both Arizona State University and Occupational Safety and Health Administration investigators.

The 27-year-old victim was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, Cox said.

Cox said the investigation is in the early stages as officials work to determine what happened.
