Elgin, SC : Woman dies, three injured in crash in Kershaw County on Tuesday evening, October 18, 2016

A head-on collision in Elgin claimed the life of one woman Tuesday evening.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a 2011 Honda SUV was headed east on Highway Church Road near Heath Pond Road when it struck a 2016 Toyota SUV.

According to Kershaw County Coroner David West, Jean Marie Bentley, the driver of the Honda SUV, died at the scene.

SCHP said a passenger in Bentley's vehicle was taken to the hospital. Authorities also said the driver and passenger in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries has not been released.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol will continue to investigate the crash.
