Joplin,MO : Two motorists injured in accidents on area roads on may, sunday 14th 2017

A motorcyclist from Bracknell, England, was injured about 2:20 p.m. Sunday in a cycle accident on Highway 96, about a mile east of Carthage in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Ian F. French, 60, was taken to Mercy Hospital Carthage with minor injuries.

The patrol said French's westbound motorcycle slowed for traffic and overturned.

• A Carthage resident was injured about 10:30 a.m. Sunday in a single-vehicle accident on Route D, about a half-mile south of Oronogo in Jasper County, according to the state patrol.

Debra A. Gipson, 57, was taken to Mercy Hospital Joplin with minor injuries.

According to the patrol, Gipson's northbound car ran off the road, overturned and hit a tree.
