York, ME : Local man in critical condition following a rollover accident on Long Sands Road on Tuesday afternoon, April 12, 2016

A local man was taken to Maine Medical Center in critical condition Tuesday afternoon, following a rollover accident on Long Sands Road.

Jared T. Bridges, 37, was driving a 1993 Jeep Wrangler westbound on Long Sands Road in the vicinity of Ridge Road when the accident occurred just after 11 a.m.

When police arrived, they found Bridges lying on the ground next to the vehicle. York Village Fire, York Ambulance and York police began assessing and treating him for serious injuries that occurred when he apparently was ejected from his vehicle.

A preliminary investigation indicates his vehicle went off the right side of the road and over a small embankment. The Jeep then rolled over, crossed Long Sands Road and came to a rest up against the house at 153 Long Sands Road.

Investigators shut down Long Sands Road for two hours while reconstructing the crash scene.
