Jackson Township ,OH :Kristy Lopez, 36 killed and another after Fatal crash on Sunday ,August 16th 2015

Authorities are investigating the death of a Gibsonburg woman after she was struck by a car in Jackson Township.

Kristy Lopez, 36, was walking in the eastbound lane of County Road 592 when the accident occurred, according to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The accident occurred at about 2:30 a.m., Sunday, in a rural area northeast of Fostoria and northwest of Tiffin.

Patty Gase, 48, of Tiffin, was driving a 1999 Ford Ranger east on County Road 592 and struck Lopez while she walking on the road. Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to the Lucas County Coroner's Office.

The Fremont Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is leading the investigation. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident. The Fostoria Police Department and John's Towing assisted at the scene.
